How It Works

Yoga is an inward journey of self-discovery.

Through a regular practice comes the development of acute awareness; awareness of the body and how we honor it, awareness of the mind and the ability to affect our mental and emotional states, awareness of our sense of spirit and connection to the Divine.

While yoga is often considered spiritual work, yoga is not a religion or orthodoxy, instead it is a practice, or orthoproxy.   Like anything else, the sustained benefits of yoga are directly proportional to the level of commitment and discipline on behalf of the student.

The programs offered range from the very basic introduction to intensive study.  They are designed to fit with the varied needs of each individual, depending on the client’s past experience in yoga as well as their current intention and commitment to their own inner work.

All programs are done in a one-on-one setting and begin with an overall consultation; together we take into account structural misalignment and physical needs, emotional and mental well-being, and overall health.

Programs may include specific postures, breathing exercises, meditation or visualization, diet or lifestyle suggestions and is focused on realistically and effectively helping the client to integrate these tools into their daily life.

I go in the direction that the client leads me.  The client is the teacher, I am simply the guide; I take what they tell me and translate through the tools of yoga and Ayurveda.

I believe that all of the questions and all of the answers to the question are inside ourselves.  With a good guide and the right tools, we can take the journey inward to find what we seek.  Like anything else in life success in your journey is directly proportional to your intention, commitment and clarity.

Gianna … a lot of my focus has come out of our conversation.  It was extremely empowering for you to affirm this journey of mine while reminding me that most of society has no clue what I’m doing here… thanks again.
