FOUNDATIONS OF AYURVEDA:
5-part Weeknight series{Jade River Healing Arts, Portland, OR}
These classes build upon one-another, creating a foundation for living with Ayurveda in our daily lives. The entire series will cover a basic overview of Ayurveda, understanding the 3 doshas and your constitution, how the seasons and timing of the day affect our bodies, eating and cooking to balance your Ayurvedic constitution, and understanding the nature of dis-ease.

{2-part Sunday series, Amrita, Portland, OR}
Ayurveda 101 - This class provides an introductory understanding of Ayurveda for those with little or no previous exposure to the subject; it offers a solid understanding of the three doshas, helping students to discern their basic Ayurvedic constitution. Students will gain practical understanding of the daily and seasonal rhythms of the doshas and how to begin implementing Ayurvedic principles to create positive life change. Sunday, October 3rd, 2010, 2-5pm
Ayurveda 201 – Intended for students who already have the introductory background presented in Ayurveda 101, this class will deepen their knowledge of Ayurveda’s wisdom of food and eating to balance the body. Discussion of the nature of dis-ease from an Ayurvedic perspective will offer a template for exploring Yoga and Ayurveda practices which specifically address imbalances. Class ends with a taste of dosha-balancing Ayurvedic teas from Sip to Live. - Sunday, November 7, 2010 2-5pm

PART II – Deepen your Wisdom: Advance your knowledge of Ayurveda’s wisdom of food and how to eat for your type. Understand the nature of Dis-ease from an Ayurvedic perspective while exploring yoga and pranayama practices which specifically address your Ayurvedic type and/or imbalances.
