What if you could increase your energy levels by magically pressing two of your fingers together in a certain way? Or support your heart function? Improve digestion? Sharpen your memory?
According to the ancient wisdom of yoga, mudras (meaning posuture/seal) are hand gestures used to represent or invoke certain energetic responses and have been used for such health benefits for thousands of years. Certain mudras are used for purposes of health, and others in the ancient mysticism and the arts. If you’ve ever been privy to watch classical Indian dance, you’ll notice how the hand mudras help to tell the story in the dance.
In looking at how the health aspects of mudras work, their function is described in a way similar to reflexology or accupressure, in that the mudras work with the nerve endings of the fingertips, which when held together create a psycho-neuro circuit that is said to tone the nervous system and can affect the inner organs.
It’s free and has no side effects (assuming your don’t superglue your hands in any position permanently) and when practiced for 15mn a day, may even offer benefits found in this how-to link above.
Who knows? If anything, you may be on the verge of the next new trend in health, since there are so many, just so long as you try to look cool while you’re doing it!
